Welcome to Acredify (“we”, “us”, “our”). By accessing or using the Acredify web application (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”).
If you are using Acredify on behalf of an institution (e.g., a university office or unit), you represent that you have authority to bind that institution to these Terms.
Eligibility
You must be authorized by your institution/organization to access the Service. If you do not have such authorization, do not use the Service.
Accounts & Access
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activities that occur under your account.
- If you sign in using Google, we will receive basic profile information (typically name, email, and profile photo) from Google to create and maintain your account.
- You agree to provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse the Service. For example, you must not:
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any accounts, systems, or data.
- Upload malware or exploit vulnerabilities.
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.
- Use the Service in a way that violates applicable laws or institutional policies.
Uploads & Submissions
The Service may allow you to upload files (e.g., evidence documents) and submit information for accreditation workflows (“Submissions”).
- You retain ownership of your Submissions.
- You grant us a limited license to host, store, process, and display your Submissions solely to operate and improve the Service and to enable your intended workflows.
- You represent that you have the right to upload and share the Submissions within your project/team.
Confidentiality
Accreditation materials may include confidential or sensitive institutional information. Use appropriate confidentiality labels (if available) and share access only with authorized users. You are responsible for ensuring you do not upload or disclose information in violation of your institutional policies or applicable law.
Intellectual Property
The Service, including its software, design, and UI, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service except as expressly permitted.
Third-Party Services
The Service may rely on third-party services (for example, Google Sign-In and Appwrite). Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and policies.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fully secure. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or revenues, arising from your use of the Service.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the Service if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, violated institutional policies, or created security risk. You may stop using the Service at any time.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect changes. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
